Experience
I graduated from Northwestern University in 2014 with my bachelor's degree in journalism and international studies. As a journalist, I've had work published in many different publications, including the Boston Globe. I began tutoring as a volunteer, helping students at the high school level develop critical reading and essay writing skills, along with helping them with politics and history coursework. I really enjoy this kind of work, and I find it rewarding to help students improve and reach their goals. When I work with a student, I identify where their needs are, and then I guide them along to fill in their learning gaps and help them better understand each subject. Along the way, I encourage and support them to help them build confidence in their abilities. I also speak Spanish natively, and I can help students learn the language and culture. In addition, I'm very comfortable helping students prepare for the SAT, ACT, and other standardized tests. When I have free time, I like to watch movies, read, travel, and go out to eat. I also enjoy soccer and combat sports.
